---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Short Introduction...
Cyberlink is a mailer for users and sysops, with two registration levels,
it assumes that not everyone that will be using the software will
necessarily be a Sysop, nor use the sysop function of the mailer.
Cyberlink is a GUI mailer, and need Kickstart 2 or above to function
correctly. It utilises the 'gadtools' library and does not need MUI
(Magic User Interface) because all gadget handling code is within the
executable itself.
A minimum of 1Meg of memory and a harddisk is suggested to use Cyberlink,
you could of course use it from a floppy, but it is not recommended.
Cyberlink supports the Hydra bi-directional protocol, which means that
if your board all uses Cyberlink or some other mailer that is Hydra
compatible, you will be able to maximize your modems potential by both
uploading and download at the same time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feature list:
- Completely automatic
- Stable, has been tested for many weeks and no crashes or unusual things
have happend.
- Easy to use, the mailer is completely GUI (Graphical User Interface) and
you communicate with the program via the mouse or keyboard.
- Low registration fee, if you only intend using the program to call to
pick up your mail, you need'nt pay for the function you don't need,
like answering calls.
- Cyberlink can work quietly in the background whilst you get on with
someother work, if you do not want it to tell you how it's getting on,
you can run it in quiet mode.
- Every option in the configuration file is overridable by a parameter
on the CLI line, tooltypes will hopefully be implemented soon to
allow different configuration with just icons :)
- AKA's are not limited, you can have as many or as little as you want,
so you could pick up all the networks possible!
- AREXX script support, with the ability to change the active configuration
file
- Currently supports EMSI, YooHoo, WaZoo, ZedZap, ZedZip, DirectZap,
CyberZap, ZModem
- Use of TrapList-compiled nodelists
- Session passwords in nodelists can be overridden in the configuration
file, to save time recompiling the nodelist
- Can optional delete empty packets instead of leaving them on your HD
- You can protect your configuration file and session passwords using
a master password. Note that this will disable other programs like
TrapDoor from been able to read your session passwords.
- Checking of download sizes before actually trying to download them
- Registration form can be filled in within the program from a GUI
- Windows can be opended on any public screen
- Supports the Hydra bi-directional protocol, get the most out of
your modem!
- GUI
- Whilst waiting for a rediall, you can pause or stop the dialling,
or get the program to automatically perform a certain action on
detecting RING.
- Multipolling of bosses allowed as was as multiple lines
- Can scan outbound for .REQ's and warn user about outstanding file requests
- Outbound manager
- Logfile can be in TrapDoor or NComm format
- Able to run command's on modem result codes (Eg. FAX, VOICE, etc)
- The 'Please wait, Launching BBS' is configurable
- For people with a lot of point addresses that do not call every boss
on regular intervals may use the Nodebook - A Phonebook of nodes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feature's yet to be added:
- Call barring of time/node/date/day etc
- Hopefully, a configuration file converter will be launched later, that
will be able to convert TrapDoor.cfg file's to Cyberlink's format,
although this is not diffinite
